YEARS by Lavyrle Spencer, FORTUNE’S ROCKS by Anita Shreve, CATCHER IN THE RYE by J.D. I also love the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich and the Kinsey Millhone mysteries by Sue Grafton. Today my favorite authors are Liane Moriarty, Anita Shreve, Amor Towles, Jonathan Tropper, Elin Hilderbrand, and Kate Morton. After I outgrew Sweet Valley High (took a while), I devoured romances by Lavyrle Spencer (my idol) and romantic suspense by Nora Roberts. I’ve always been a reader, and my favorite books always have a love story in them, even if they’re historical or suspense or women’s fiction. She lifts her glass to readers and writers from her home near Detroit, MI, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. Her stories are about modern couples falling in old-fashioned love, and even though romance is a fantasy, her heroes and heroines are everyday people with real problems who stumble on their way to happily ever after. Melanie Harlow likes her martinis dry, her heels high, and her history with the naughty bits left in.
